Borough Shabqadar is a historical place. It is a part of District Charsadda. Shabqadar is the most important place by many ways especially from the historic points of views.
One of Shabqadar importance is the essence of Shabqadar FC Center. FC Center as a Shabqadar Fort built in 1837. Its area is 3700 (Acre). The walls of this fort not only made of stones and other materials while it has allots of secrets of different historical events.
In the past it was very valuable due to defense points of views whenever any warriors and arm forces came to attack on Peshawar valley from the hilly areas of Mohmand Agency they used to stay in borough Shabqadar. Therefore why there was a need been felt for a strong fort in every era? So on a big mound Shabqadar Fort was built which is still an antique of its fine art and a sample of history for the coming generations. Numbers of traditions and statements are related to this Fort.
This historical Fort built in the time of Ranjeet Singh. The Fort was architect by a man named Tota Ram. Since Tota Ram had no child so with in the construction period he was gifted a son by Almighty Allah and was named Shankar Tas therefore the Fort was called Shankar Garh and thus the whole borough was known by Shankar Garh. where with the passage of time and local Muslims inspirations, sprite and deep relation with religion Islam the name of this borough was replaced by Shabqadar.
The Fort was specially built on such a site from where one can see Peshawar valley and round areas was easy. For the same purpose in the center of the Fort a long tower placed to view the Peshawar valley quite easily. In the center with this long tower two doors are made captive with strong steel drains. According to some statements the warriors from Mohmand Agency attacked on Shabqadar Fort in 1980s. the warriors crossed the main Gate and damaged the Sikh by health and wealth. So Sher Singh son of Ranjeet Shingh ordered for court martial of the main Gate. For the purpose under the leadership of a Francision general Mr. Jews Chris an martial court arranged. They demented the main Gate and punished for one Hundred (100) years prison and which are still in prisons. According to a statement Ranjeet Singh called the carpenter who had made the Gates and cut his hands because he made the Gate weak and according to some other statements Ranjeet Singh gave him the punishment of death. There are 23 tombs of English army who had killed in the battle with the warriors are made hunt of an accident. The Fort consists of two main huts (1) Churchill Hut: It is called Churchill because the prime minister of UK came here and stayed in the Fort during his rule. The furniture is still in a very good condition which used by him. (2) The second hut used by them as a telephone exchange by English forces. In 1857 the British government hand over this Fort to arm forces training and still it is one of the best training centers in Pakistan for Frontier Constabulary. There are two main blocks. One is the administration block and second is the academic block for the trainees. There is a computer academy for Frontier Constables and a Hospital with in the training center. Now a day, it is under the use of Frontier Constables. It is also very popular for its beauty and attractions.
